Cometic Head Gasket - Hybrid B-series Non-VTEC Block with VTEC Head

MLS (Multi-Layer Steel) head gaskets are comprised of three layers of stainless steel. COMETIC uses stainless for increased strength, its ability to rebound, and its resistance to corrosion. The outer layers are embossed (beaded) and coated on both sides with Viton®, a fluoroelastomer rubber-based material designed to meet the demands of harsh sealing environments, load conditions, and surface finishes. The Viton® coating is heat resistant to 482°F. The center shim layer is comprised of uncoated stainless, which can be varied to accommodate multiple thickness requirements. MLS gaskets are available in standard-duty (up to 10# boost) and extreme duty "HP" turbo/nitrous configurations.
