Cometic Head Gasket - Honda Prelude 92-96 H22A1, H22A2 DOHC VTEC
MLS (Multi-Layer Steel) head gaskets are comprised of three layers of stainless steel. COMETIC uses stainless for increased strength, its ability to rebound, and its resistance to corrosion. The outer layers are embossed (beaded) and coated on both sides with Viton®, a fluoroelastomer rubber-based material designed to meet the demands of harsh sealing environments, load conditions, and surface finishes. The Viton® coating is heat resistant to 482°F. The center shim layer is comprised of uncoated stainless, which can be varied to accommodate multiple thickness requirements. MLS gaskets are available in standard-duty (up to 10# boost) and extreme duty "HP" turbo/nitrous configurations.
- Ideal for aluminum heads on cast iron or aluminum blocks.
- Withstands shearing forces created by aluminum heads/cast iron blocks.
- No re-torque is necessary.
- Promotes an even torque load across the sealing surface, allowing for measurable reduced bore distortion.
